Q: Have you always felt energy, or did you later learn to perceive it?
A: I’ve always felt Presence my entire life, what many call God, some call soul, and others call subtle energy.
The way I experience it is more of a felt sense, that there is nowhere that it is not. It is in my heart, throughout each organ and cell of my body, both inside and outside, and in the space between each of us. It radiates with power and pulse, moves, energizes, connects and expands. It is the foreground and point of my focus, and the background of all of my existence, seen and unseen.
As a child, it never occurred to me to try to figure out “what it was made of”, or that not everyone felt it (and I assumed everyone could see the multicolored lights bouncing behind the priest as he spoke each Sunday).
But when I felt inspired to study clinical qigong, Quantum Touch, and other energy modalities as an adult, I definitely felt my perception strengthen, especially nonlocal perception. And I never stop learning about this, or challenging myself in this area.
Q: What made you turn toward quantum physics?
The seed was planted in the sixth grade. We had just learned in science class that day about atoms. I was doing my homework, and contemplating the space between these tiny invisible particles out of which I was evidently made. I wondered how one atom knew it was part of the chair, and the next knew it was part of my butt sitting upon the chair. Then suddenly I just knew, that everything is made of energy, that it is alive and conscious in its own way. Atoms, rocks, plants, animals, humans, even planets and the sun. This insight would later impulse me to find out all I could about this energy and space that comprises our beingness.
Later in my thirties I was hooked. I read Deepak Chopra’s Quantum Healing, and from then on I didn’t stop seeking out what quantum physics had to say about the nature of our being, and comparing it with what the spiritual texts were teaching.
Q: What is your religious background?
A: I was raised Catholic, and when I was really young I thought I would become a nun because my sense of spirituality was my strongest passion.
But my curiosity about the nature of reality got me into trouble in catechism class, and eventually led me to wander beyond my Catholic upbringing, and through the spiritual texts of each of the ancient wisdom traditions. I wanted to know more about what the Bible was saying about being filled with the Holy Spirit, and being made in the image of God, who was said to be both light and love. I wanted technical explanations and I drove the nuns and priests crazy with my questions. One priest, clearly irritated with me, grabbed me by the scruff of the neck (I was in college) and yanked me into a vacant corner of the church, where he could inform me that we had to have faith and the church didn’t stress the portions of the Bible that it couldn’t really explain, including the Book of Revelation. Which didn’t make any sense to me at all.
I then looked to science for any explanation that I could find about light, energy, thought, mind, intelligence, and consciousness itself. I wondered about the nature of love, that it was source for miracles and healing, and “the way” as taught by Jeshua (the original Aramaic name of Jesus). Only quantum physics helped me explain to the satisfaction of my left brain what I learned from the spiritual texts.
I don’t know how to answer about my spirituality nowadays. I’m more spiritual, not really religious in the typical sense. “Spirituality” is about the inner direct experience of God, while “religious” is about the outer practice we do to obtain/maintain that inner connection. Universal spirituality, maybe? I consider myself Christian, because of my connection with Christ, and the teachings of Jeshua, which were all about higher love. I’ve had mystical experiences about living in the time of Jeshua, about being persecuted for my Christian faith following the crucifixion, and even about Christ on the cross. I’ve had ecstatic visions related to this (the regressionist who led my session told me she converted to Christianity based on what she witnessed that day). Yet, there is a common thread to all religions about the nature of love, and being love, and to this I resonate strongly. I love Sufi expressions of this, the Tao Te Ching, and much more. Buddhist teachings about disciplining the mind are helpful, because that is where so many people are today, struggling with this. Hinduism is also helpful, because it paints a picture, even if symbolically, of the multiverse, the infinite and multidimensional nature of consciousness and spiritual reality. Esoteric teachings go really deep, which I crave. All have value. Each seems to be geared toward a certain group who need the teachings in a certain way. And it makes sense to me that God would arrange for something for everyone.
I like to practice holistically, in the context of the faith of my client.
Q: What other kinds of experiences have you had, of a mystical or supernatural nature?
A: In the past fifty-five years, I have had many experiences that would be considered “impossible” by conventional physics. As have many of you, and most of my clients. From the more mundane intuited knowings, and improbable synchronicities, to soul dreams or journeys in consciousness, to the incredulous “re-experiencing in consciousness” of other lives on Earth, other visions of dimensional existences, to a miraculous manifestation, to even the experiencing of Presence or subtle energy and energy healing.
And when I was only eight years old, my parents and grandparents were among the many witnesses of a very definite UFO craft, hovering silently for a long while just over the tree tops on the nearby golf course, only a couple of short blocks away. These are very conventional folks, who don’t have experiences like I do. But this craft was written up in the paper the next day, because so many saw it. Leave it to my family to get bored with it staying put for so long, that they went into the house to play bridge. But this story made quite the impression on me. It kept me open to the “impossible”.
Later, I looked to near-death, out-of-body, and consciousness research, and found innumerable experiences that humans are having that are reportedly “impossible”. And so perhaps it was inevitable that I was led to quantum physics to explain it all for those of us having these trans-personal (that is, beyond the personal) experiences. Q: What do you see as your own soul purpose?
A: My purpose is to support others along their path to knowing and living who they really are. To being their soul self in this life on a daily basis. And to connect with Presence, or with their own intuitive knowing that is there to guide them, through the energies of their highest heart.
Q: Why do you do this bigger work? That is, focus on this bigger picture?
A: Because that is the root of all healing. All healing comes from a re-turn to the state of Wholeness consciousness. When we aren’t allowing our soul, our unique stream of energy and consciousness, to be expressed in this world, we feel it. We feel it as pain, as a violation of our own boundary. We experience suffering, the prolonged and chronic nature of this pain. To the degree we are living in harmonic resonance with our soul energy, to that degree we experience happiness or bliss.
All fear and stuckness comes from the shift out of our soul nature, and into something that is a state of “not us”. When we are not aligned or synchronized with soul energy, we feel disconnection, separation and therefore fear and loneliness. When we are synchronized with our higher vibrational nature, there is a strength there, a fortitude that can withstand the worst environmental circumstances.
Q: Do you believe that all that happens to us or that we experience is a result of our positive or negative thinking?
A: It’s not that simple. Most of us are quite scattered in our thinking, and so we experience quite random outcomes. Those whose thinking is disciplined, organized and therefore coherent in the physics sense of the word, are the ones who see less random and more synchronous outcomes. You could say that ego is too scattered, and working with slower electromagnetic energies; while soul is working at coherent, collectively organized, torsion levels of energy. The latter are the levels which are correlated with nonlocal or “magical” effects at a distance, with synchronized activities, and “Law of Attraction”, if that’s what you’re wondering about.
Also, there are many lines of energy and force, more than I talk about in the book because it gets overly complex. Let’s just say that whether you are vibrating at the level of egoic consciousness or soul consciousness dictates which other higher lines of energy are influencing you. As you evolve, some forces no longer affect you, and others come into alignment with you and therefore affect you more. And humanity as a collective is subject to energies and forces, which affect you because you are part of humanity.
I recommend that you do what you can, when you can. Relax into your own beingness that we’re calling soul. Cohere and align your thoughts with the energy of love as much as you can, so that you can participate in co-creating this world as a soul. Feel the power of your own inner nature, that is God expressing through you, as the unique quality of love that you are.
Q: Why do you take this huge risk? To practice on the edge like this?
A: How else will the world evolve and move forward, if none of us takes the risk to stand out, to be different, and to bring our own unique stream of energy and consciousness into this world? This is how we shift the consciousness of humanity, one person at a time. The more of us who join in this effort, the greater the collective. One day, the collective of higher consciousness will catalyze a quantum shift, and then will be the majority. Then we will have Heaven on Earth.
